Auto-reconnect setting is NOT remembered

go to menu->system->settings->connection

the default setting is 3 tries. change to "always" fails. change to "never" succeeds, but after that you can't change it to anything else!!!

Now there's another problem - gtalk contacts with names starting with capital Cyrillic letter "Ж" are displayed incorrectly - the abovementioned letter is not displayed at all.

Also, ther's this new tab 'conference' - how do I disable it?

What mobile phone do you use? I can't reproduce the problem on my handsets.
If you want to disable tab 'conference', you can remove all conference's contacts from your roster and restart program, or you can go to Menu->Settings->Contacts and switch off "Show IM groups" setting.
