Hello to all mobile users!

Please, put here your experience of running our Talkonaut application on different handsets from different vendors. We have tested Talkonaut on most publicly available phones from Nokia and Sony-Ericsson. We also know, that it works on later models of BlackBerry PDAs.

If you have any problems running the Talkonaut on your mobile, please don't hesitate to ask here. Thank you!

Ruslan.

Hi,

work in Palm TX with IBM Websphere!

I haven't tried Jabber account, only Google Talk.

Thanks for this app!

Great! Thanks for trying.

Well, I'm running Talkonaut on my QTek 9100 in Intent MIDLet Manager (WM5.0), and it looks great. Ok, we will add a font selection feature.

You may also download a latest buid, the default font size has been increased.

Thanks for trying.

Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2006-11-17 14:07
We have a lot of plans for further development, but we would better not reveal them :-).

Choosing ringtones is a bit problematic, since quite a limited number of handsets allows to access local file system from J2ME environment.
Parent By Niknetak Date 2006-11-17 14:57

No problems with volume control. Will implement it soon.

In the first I congratulate on good undertaking! The report is those: Siemens S75 - while all works without censures. Very big lack, not functional, but quite strategic - the traffic too big for GSM. Hour for two nearby 700 KB (it is simple in a mode of idle time, without chats and conversations) - so it is impossible!

But all the same I wish successes! Also I hope for the decision of a problem
I am sorry for my English—machine translation:)
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2006-11-19 17:51
Hello!

Thanks for reporting. Can you please tell how many contacts do you have in your roster ? You see, the more contacts, the more "presence information" traffic you receive. Anyway, we will try to analyze the case and fix it if possible.
Parent By page.proof Date 2006-11-19 22:59 Edited 2006-11-19 23:05

Exactly it is so much how many at connection to GoogleTalk by means of Bombus:) (and it consumes the traffic in times less) And if is more exact - about 10 active of 50 (approximately) and 4 gates

What error/message do yuo get on BlackBerry 7290 ?
Parent By 65.77.64.98 Date 2006-11-22 21:02
Hi. This app sounds pretty cool. I'm trying to install it on my Blackberry 7230.
I've installed it but haven't really been able to login with my google talk account. Gets stuck at the point of 'checking phone number'. Is 7230 even supported (is anybody else using it) or I should be okay since I made it this far and I'm not doing something right to finish the logging in?

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

We know for sure that Talkonaut runs on 8100 and 7250 BlackBerries. What phone number do you enter and what it says ? If you are in US, you should enter phone number starting with 1 (1 - is country code for US/Canada). You may contact us in private at team@talkonaut.com.

Sagem handsets support has been introduced in latest build of our Talkonaut application.

Hello Samy.

There's an article about installing on Treos in our F.A.Q., seems you have done things like they are described there. :)

Hi there, I wonder if anyone has tried to run this program on Blackberry 8700g.
I wish the development group would create a version of this program which will run on blackberry 8700g.

tried on the moto rokr E6. works fine. it stays maximized, it would be nice if i could minimize it , so that i can access the menu.
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-06-13 20:01
Hello.

You can minimize Talkonaut on motos very easily. Just press red button (handup) and you will see a menu like: 1. Suspend 2. Resume 3. End 4. Run in Background. Choose "Run in Background".

Ruslan.

No dice on a Blackberry 7750 at startup:

"Error starting talkonaut:  Class 'javax.microedition.io.file.FileConnection' not found."

I imagine it should work, though.  Here's some specs:

OSv4.0.0.171 (Platform 1.5.0.30)
Crypographic Kernel v3.8.0.2.4
ME Configuration: CLDC-1.1
ME Profile: MIDP-2.0
ME JTWI Version: 1.0
ME Media Version: 1.1
ME PIM Version: 1.0

Any thoughts, questions, help?
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-08-29 23:29
Hello.

The OS version 4.0 does not have necessary modules (namely file system access) to run the Talkonaut application. So please upgrade the firmware on your phone up to verion 4.1.X.

Regards,
Ruslan.
Parent By wxl Date 2007-08-30 00:08
Doesn't seem like Verizon wants me to do that on my 7750.  I wonder what the repercussions may be.
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-08-30 00:11
Hello.

You can easily do that, just check out for upgrades on RIM's site, and it's not Verizon's business what you do with your phone ;-). Ain't it free democratic country ? ;)

Regards,
Ruslan.
Parent By wxl Date 2007-08-30 06:52
Ok, dumb question:  is 4.1 for any Blackberry the same as 4.1 for any other?  Anyone know where I can download 4.1 for a 7750 if not?
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-08-30 10:41
Hello,

No, the firmware is different for each model. Please look through RIM's site http://www.blackbarry.com, I've recently upgraded from there. You will have to choose your model and carrier from the list.

Regards,
Ruslan.

Hello,

First of all many thanks for great product of yours, actually I have found this site on google yesterday night.
But currently I'm using BB 8100 set and I have installed the software  with the following url.
http://www.talkonaut.com/app/bbmini/talkonaut.jad

Software successfully installed but I have entered google talk Id and password then trying to connect many times and finally I have received error CONNECTION FAILED OR INCORRECT NETWORK SETTINGS ON YOUR PHONE.

Now I'm using GPRS/EDGE in pakistan.

Please advise for further solution.

regards,

MA

Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2009-02-18 21:00
Please contact your mobile carrier tech support to learn proper GPRS settings.

PS: Blackberry version is no longer supported due to fundamental problems in this platform. We strictly suggest not to use any BB devices.

Regards,
Ruslan.

Hello Ruslan!

Just installed Talkonaut on my Blackberry 8820.  Works so far!
Question for you, will this work well to make voice calls using wifi when I'm traveling in another country that does NOT have a supporting GSM/GPRS/EDGE network?  For example, I will travel to Japan, and they use different Frequencies for their GSM (UMTS 2100) and my phone doesn't connect to that.  BUT, if I connect over wifi, can I make calls using Talkonaut and call to the US?  I know it probably won't be free, but if it's reasonable...  Thank you for your help!!

..By the way, should I have downloaded the Blackberry version that Evgeny posted about?  I just got the regular one.

hello
my 8820 is not install Talkonaut, can you send me the setup files?
thanks
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-11-09 02:16
Hello,

If you have full version running well you should not try any other reduced (mini) builds.

Since Talkonaut does not send any media data over data packet switched network (i.e. GPRS/EDGE/WIFI), so it does not matter how you are connected, it will always initiate a callback. Though, be attentive not to initiate callback to your mobile number while in roaming, it will ruin your mobile account :-). Instead, buy a local SIM card or define some local landline number in Talkonaut and receive callbacks to that number.

Regards,
Ruslan.
Parent By em2kailua Date 2007-11-09 12:03
Ruslan,

Thanks for responding!  However, maybe I'm confused or wasn't clear.  There can't be any connection over non-wifi with my phone (bb 8820) in Japan.  UMTS 2100 in Japan and my phone is only GSM 850/1900/900/1800.  So no call back will reach my handset no matter what, right? I want to know if talkonaut can operate on wifi only, with no initiation over GPRS/EDGE.  Thank you!
Parent By ruslan.zalata Date 2007-11-09 12:10
Hi again,

Talkonaut can work over WIFI as long as your handset has this capability (ie. you can use your handset without being connected to GSM). But, again Talkonaut does not send media data over data network, since it utilizes callback technique. So, to make a call you will have to define some landline phone close to you then initiate a call using Talkonaut. That way you will receive a call back to your landline phone.

We are currently working on a native version of Talkonaut for Symbina S60 and Windows Mobile handsets (no Blackberry, sorry) which will be able to make calls over data network (GSPS, EDGE, WIFI, whatever), it can dramatically reduce the call cost or even will make it free. We plan to release it soon.

Regards,
Ruslan.

Hello!

On Sony-Ericsson devices GPRS settings for Java applications are defined in separate menu, please consult your phone manual or address to your mobile carrier for proper settings.

BTW, you will need a full internet access data plan (WEB only access is not sufficient).

Regards,
Ruslan.

I just installed the talkonaut client on a Samsung SGH-i320. It warned that the version may have been too low, but it works great.

Edit: It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 build 14967.2.5.0

Hello James,

For Winows Mobile 5/6 based devices it is highly recommended to install native WM version. You can get it from http://get.talkonaut.com/wm

Ruslan.
