How-To: Sing-In to Talkonaut
After you run the Talkonaut application you will be prompted for your existing account information required to sign in to Jabber server. This includes: your account type, your username, password and the mobile phone number you are running this application on.
Click the down arrow on pop-up menu or press Select to choose your Jabber account type,
Press Select and enter your user name,
Press Select and enter your password,
Provide the application with the phone number it is running on. This number is required for "callback" feature to operate. If you put incorrect number, you will not be able to make voice calls using Talkonaut.
The phone number must be in International format begining with country code. When you enter it, the application will display country name it belongs to. This may be helpful to check its correctness.
Press Sign-In softkey to start.
If you are using BlackBerry device you have to press "Q/W" and "O/P" keys for left and right softkeys accordingly and push joystick to fill in the text field.

If you are connected to a limited GPRS or don't have full Internet access enabled on your phone (WAP only), but you can browse Web pages (HTTP protocol is working), you might want to enable HTTP Binding option. This can be useful on BlackBerry devices.

If you entered your account information properly the connection dialog will be displayed.
It usually takes several seconds to establish connection to Jabber server.
If connection does not establish after quite a long period of time, that means you have not set up your GPRS data connection properly.
On BlackBerry devices you have to obtain a Service Book from your carrier's site for direct access the Internet. By default, only WAP/HTTP service is available which is not sufficient for Talkonaut to operate.

Your contact list has been retrieved and you may start using Talkonaut.
Your presence startus is also retrieved from Jabber server.
The left icon on the list item represents your buddy current status.
The right icon represents the contact type, usually one of the following:
- Your buddy is using Google Talk, possible to make voice calls and chat.
- Your buddy is using Talkonaut, possible to make voice calls and chat.
- This contact is a reference for mobile or landline phone, only voice calls possible.
- This contact is a reference for SIP phone, only voice calls possible.
- This contact is a reference for MSN/Live messenger, chat and voice calls are possible.
- This contact is a reference for Yahoo Messenger, chat and voice calls are possible.
If there's no icon displayed, there is no voice capabilities on this contact. You may chat only.
